Improving your Reporting Culture - RL Connections Virtual

October 16, 2017 RL Team

Summary

We all know that the only way we can fix something is if we understand what is wrong with it. Our incident-reporting system is no different. Relying on front-line staff to voluntarily report adverse events has challenges including limited time, lack of understanding what needs to be reported and a loss of faith in leadership to make effective changes. Analysis should be done to determine how each event can be prevented from reoccurring. These successful process or policy changes can be used to show Return on Investment for safety initiatives, measured in lives saved or claims cost reductions. We will discuss how RL6 can be used to improve this reporting culture.
