A system of its own
The Center for Health Ambulatory Surgery Center (CFH) is an outpatient ambulatory surgery center in Peoria, Illinois. The surgeons at the CFH perform many types of procedures: general, plastic, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, eye, ENT, gastrointestinal, pain management and oral surgery. It is a joint venture owned and operated by OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and four physician groups, under the leadership of Thomas Feldman, Chief Executive Officer.
Although the CFH uses RL software's out-of-the-box configuration, which does not allow for customized workflow, it suits the CFH's needs. Now, the CFH has a secure system where no one else has access to its event reporting data. However, the CFH team have made changes to RL6 since implementation, adding fields to event pick lists and using the data captured in RL6 to improve patient safety and clinical compliance at the CFH.
Some of the unique ways the CFH use RL6 are:
- Capturing the cost of expired supplies and wasted items
- Reviewing the CFH's medical records the next day for compliance
- Logging occurrence reports to track documentation events
I loved the look of the RL software. It's very intuitive, easy to use and cost effective.
